Privacy Policy

1. What this covers

This Privacy Policy explains what information Joshie ("Joshie," "we," "us") collects when you use getjoshie.com and its related services (the "Service"), how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here.

2. Information we collect

Account information. Email address and password (via Supabase Auth) when you create an account.

Profile information. Skills, budget range, location, and alert email you provide to personalize your launch paths, plus your Founder DNA survey answers if you complete that assessment.

Resume and background information. If you upload a resume, we extract and store the parsed text (skills, industry, years of experience, employers, titles, education) to personalize your recommendations. The original file is stored in private cloud storage tied to your account.

Ideas you submit ("My Idea"). If you describe your own idea or upload a business plan, deck, or similar document for board review, we extract and process the text content to generate your review. The original uploaded file itself is not retained after processing — only the extracted text and the generated review.

Generated and saved content. Launch paths generated for you, any you choose to save or archive, and your progress on the Launch Tracker. Tracker data is currently stored only in your browser's local storage, not on our servers.

Usage analytics. We log first-party product-usage events (e.g. page views, card clicks, saves, tab opens) tied to your account, used internally to understand product usage. We do not sell this data or share it with advertisers.

3. How we use your information

To generate and personalize your launch paths, board reviews, and deep-dive analyses.
To operate your account, including authentication and saved/tracked content.
To send you daily digest emails and other service communications you've opted into (you can unsubscribe at any time).
To understand how the product is used and improve it.
To detect, prevent, and respond to abuse, fraud, or security issues.

4. Who we share information with

We don't sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers that make Joshie work:

Anthropic (Claude API) — processes your profile, resume text, and submitted ideas to generate launch paths and board reviews. Anthropic's standard commercial API terms do not use API inputs or outputs to train their models, unlike some consumer AI products.
Supabase — hosts our database, authentication, and file storage.
Resend — sends transactional and digest emails on our behalf.
Railway — hosts the application itself.

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Joshie, our users, or others.

5. Data retention and deletion

We retain your account and generated content for as long as your account is active. If you'd like your account and associated data deleted, contact us at joshie@getjoshie.com and we'll process the request manually. (A self-service deletion flow is planned but not yet built — see note below.)

6. Cookies and local storage

We use your browser's local storage to keep the app responsive — for example, caching generated content so tabs load instantly, and (if you're not signed in) storing saved launch paths locally. We don't use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

7. Children's privacy

The Service is not directed to anyone under 18. We don't knowingly collect information from children.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the Service evolves. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do; material changes will be communicated via the app or email.
